Our Heavenly Father, Creator of all that is, the Holy One who
declares the end from the beginning, You are the God of order and not
disorder. And so we thank you for
establishing motherhood and for creating women to perfectly fill the role of
Mothers.
You have endowed them to be nurturers, patient,
compassionate, filled with unquestioned love, willing to give their life in an
instant for the life of their child, able to do multiple things with children
under foot or on a hip. Things that
would cause most of us men to be pulling our hair out.
I thank you for Christian mothers in a right relationship
with you, LORD, who teach that relationship to their children and who instruct
them in Your Word and in your Way.
I thank you for mothers who make things better when we're not
feeling well just by being there and we know that they love us and care.
I thank you for mothers that always seem to see the best in
us and make us want to do and be better.
I thank you for mothers who don't feel that working a little
harder or staying up a little later to make or do something special for one of
their children is a burden, but who feel they are blessed to have the
opportunity to show their love.
I thank you for the soft touch and hug that can come only
from a Mother.
Lord, I thank you for the prayers of Mothers as they pray for
their children and grandchildren, for family and those they love. Thank you, Oh Hearer of Prayers, that you
hear their prayers, you hear their hearts.
And Father, as we think of all that mothers do and all that
mothers are and as we take this time this morning to celebrate Mothers and
motherhood as a part of our Worship to You, would you, by the power of your
Holy Spirit, impart to each mother here, from the youngest and newest mother to
the oldest grandmother, that you have called them to a High Calling to be the
Mothers of a new generation and would you fill them a fresh with Your Spirit
that they would live boldly for You and that their children and we here might
rise up and call them Blessed and all for the Glory of Your Marvelous Grace.
Amen.
