Mission/Vision

KING’S CROSS CHURCH exists to glorify God and enlarge His Kingdom by gathering regularly to proclaim and celebrate the Gospel of Jesus Christ, yielding to the authority of God’s Word as illuminated by the Holy Spirit and summarized in the historic Christian Creeds and Reformed Confessions, partaking together of Christ’s presence in the Sacraments, providing opportunities to love and serve one another in Community, equipping the saints for Ministry to those who are lost and hurting, both locally and globally, and preparing them to cultivate Shalom (peace and well-being) wherever God calls them to serve.

Embrace the Chaos

Last Sunday, Trinity Church (Wenatchee) formally commissioned me (pastor Gene Helsel), three deacons and a handful of households from Trinity Church to plant a new CREC church here in Wenatchee. David Hatcher and Brett Baker are serving King's Cross Church as elders pro-tem and were present at the service. Pastor David Hatcher presented a powerful homily/charge to the saints of both congregations entitled, "The Hand of the Lord in Church Planting" which you can read here (and I strongly recommend that you do.) Straight talk, straight from the Lord, for any sending or being-sent church. Enjoy.

  1. What an exciting and humbling service. We are so happy to be a part of this work that God is doing. Though it be "messy" may we always trust in God to bring it to completion in His perfect timing. May we be found with our hands on the plow trusting God through each crooked line that He draws knowing that it will be straight when He is done with it. May the Holy Spirit fill us with wisdom, energy, strength, desire, great joy and much love as we seek to do His work for His glory.

  2. That was an amazing sermon. I felt like God is giving us permission to be excited about church planting. This isn't an accident, it is the messiness of the hand of God.
